Hoover Dam Tours Las Vegas

Hoover Dam is worth seeing and is very close to Vegas. Because of friends and family visiting I have been twice in seven days. The Hoover Dam straddles Nevada and Arizona and there is parking in each state but in Nevada you have to pay to park in the garage. There is a fee to get into the visitors center and a fee for each of the two tours they offer. Other than that you can take your time and stroll around and across the Hoover Dam and take pictures. The gift shop is barely bigger than a hotel bathroom and crowded with people bumping and rubbing into you as you are trying to get through aisles the width of a 2×4. The cafe is a tiny bit more accommodating. Make sure you order the Dam Dog. If you don’t go on a tour or into the visitors center, which we didn’t, then you won’t spend but maybe an hour. Make sure you stop by the Lakeside Overlook which is on the Nevada side. It overlooks Lake Mead, the marina, and a tunnel on the rail trail.

Could you post some Hoover Dam pictures with your blog post please. I would like to see a little more of it before I travel there.
