Play Golf Live Longer Proven Fact
Written by mike on June 4, 2008 – 11:27 am -No more putting off your golf game or that golf vacation to Las Vegas or listening to anyone telling you you are spending too much time golfing.
You need to golf! It is just the thing to prolong your life by as much as 40% according to a brand new study out of the Swedish medical university Karolinska Institutet.
For golfers of the same age, socioeconomic status and sex, the death rate for golfers is 40% lower. That translates into 5 extra years of life for 300,000 Swedes who play golf and were in this study.
Note - Golfers with lowest handicap are the safest.
Note - the study is based on golfers who walk the course at a brisk pace. That may be impacted in Vegas with new ‘Must ride a cart’ rule which is becoming more and more the standard defacto on Vegas golf courses, so golfers can play through quicker, and not get stuck behind walkers.
Not being too cynical, I am wondering if casinos implemented rule to get us back to the casino, and back to what they know we can not resist - gambling.
