Tasty grub at Johnny McGuire’s in Town Square
Written by kelly on January 3, 2010 – 10:31 am -We go to Town Square pretty often to see movies, stroll the shops, and of course to eat. On this particular day we needed to grab a quick bite to eat before our almost three hour movie started. We’ve seen the dill pickle before but this time we were going to try Johnny McGuire’s. I got a skinny hot turkey sub with curry mayo on homebaked wheat bread. Very good. My husband got the Philly Cheese Steak made with real provolone cheese. DELICIOUS! It was the best cheese steak sub he’s ever had, and I agreed. He offered me a bite and I wanted to finish his Philly and I had just eaten my own sub. Another one of their specialties is that they make their own potato chips. Two thumbs up. Johnny McGuire’s in Town Square is located upstairs near The Blue Martini. They serve breakfast all day and are open till late.

Nora’s Wine Bar in West Las Vegas
Written by kelly on August 12, 2009 – 12:50 pm -Some friends of ours invited us to Nora’s Wine Bar one Sunday afternoon for lunch. They are regulars to Nora’s Wine Bar and Osteria so they knew their reputation. It is located at Boca Park which is on the west side of Las Vegas in the middle of shopping heaven. The lunch menu had a few wines 50% off and a few meals for only $7. The regular menu is available all day and we thought that the prices were reasonable. When you sit down they bring you bread with three exotic olive oils along with pink sea salt, white sea salt, and pepper that you sprinkle yourself. The service was spot on and everyone had a good attitude. We ordered three meals, one appetizer and one bottle of wine and only paid $44. We had a fabulous time with our friends and enjoyed the exquisite Italian and Sicilian style cuisine.

Florida Cafe Cuban Bar and Grill
Written by Jason on June 3, 2009 – 8:46 am -Traveled into Vegas to review the Florida Cafe Cuban Bar and Grill located inside the Howard Johnsons Hotel on the Las Vegas strip. The hotel is clean, with plenty of parking in back, a nice pool and a fairly active wedding program. The Florida Cafe serves great authentic Cuban meals including breakfast in the $8 to $12 range, and lunch, appetizers, soups and salads in the $5 to $12 range. Dinner runs about $11 to $15 for the nicer entrees and the atmosphere is upbeat. The Florida Cafe is well decorated and clean and the service was fast and polite. The only cuban sandwich I have ever had that was better was in San Francisco. My wife destroyed her Arroz Con Pollo meal but still could not eat it all. Black beans were some of the best we have ever had and overall I would rececommend this cafe to anyone in the area or interested in cuban food. The bar is nicely set up with many patrons taking their meals there. I noticed a lot of locals as well.

There is no doubt you will be thoroughly impressed with your dining experiences in Vegas. Whether you like French food or you have a taste for Thai food, a Las Vegas Restaurant is the place to eat. Or you can try a little bit of everything at a world known buffet like, The Bellagio Buffet. I had the opportunity to dine there with my father and his wife and I have never had such a dining experience in my life!

Khourys Mediterranean Restaurant Las Vegas
Written by Jason on March 25, 2009 – 10:52 am -I traveled to Vegas to have my accountant finish off my taxes and decided to review a well established restaurant nearby on South Fort Apache called Khourys Mediterranean Restaurant. In Las Vegas it is never difficult to find good expensive food. But what I look for is great affordable food. Khourys fits the bill in this case with a big menu, kids meals, many small appetizer and sampler type add ons like olives, small salads, spice mixture dishes, dips, etc. I had a great chicken shawarma sandwich wrap with fresh pickles and delicious marinated and dleicately spiced meat stuffed inside cooked to order fresh hot bread. Nice. Kelly got one of her combo platters where she gets a little of nearly everything. Well done, not cheap but certainly affordable. I have heard due to all the fresh bread and toppings they serve great pizza as well. Other Vegas eating out advice can be found at Las Vegas Restaurants.
