The fact is there are thousands of Las Vegas hotel jobs and restaurant jobs such as maid, server, bartender, bar back, bus boy, bus girl, cashier, host, cook, or select concierge. Do not underestimate these jobs. Bartenders in Vegas often make $100,000 dollars plus. They just don't have the kind of job security casinos provide and Vegas, in reality, is a family town. When you have a family you will want job security.

Many of the jobs at casinos are union and you will have to join the union before being hired or when you're hired. Lots of activity in Vegas revolves around unions trying to unionize casino workers such as card table game dealers in each casino. The casinos work just as hard to convince employees that they do not need to unionize. Casinos like Venetian are particularly adamant about keeping unions out, though it does not always work. Workers actually decide to unionize or not by voting.
