riveria hotel and casino las vegas offers upscale but affordable dining at kristofer's steakhouse - by Kiki

Riveria Hotel And Casino Las Vegas

Riviera Hotel and Casino Las Vegas is one of the landmark casinos in Las Vegas. It opened in 1955. One of the reasons it has such great entertainment today is because it is continuing the long tradition of great entertainers it already had, such as Liberace, Shecky Green and the nutty naked chicks on motorcycles in Splash.

Insider Secret - Easy to get comps here if you play the slots. Make sure you get a Riviera Club card and use it.

There are 4 towers; with the Monaco and the Monte Carlo being the newest, having the largest rooms. These will cost you more than the Mediterranean or San Remo towers. If you're there to gamble, get a Mediterranean room, as they are right over the casino. San Remo rooms overlook the pools. Use our page to book now because room rates increase on weekends. If you're coming to swim, you might want to go across the street to the Circus Circus, or down the street at the Tropicana. Both have much larger pool areas.

In the Riviera Hotel and Casino Las Vegas the showroom lounge is called The Bistro. Among other things, there is a long running tribute act to Neil Diamond that has consistently good reviews. Note, there's always a cover charge. Crazy Girls is their popular topless show with a comic host. Use your Club Riviera card to get discounts on show tickets.

There's a Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra tribute called 'The Concert That Never Was.' Like Anthony Cools at the Paris, the Riviera also has an outrageous comedy hypnotist, called Dr. Scott Lewis. La Cage is their time tested drag show. Look for dinner and show packages and get great savings. Traveling shows can include the virtuoso ICE - direct from Russia, with outstanding choreography by Debra Brown from "Cirque du Soleil."

Get a quick hot dog at Hound Doggies in the nickel slot area. Or go for solid, reliable and affordable upscale dining at Kristofer's Steak House. Meats are aged and all the entrees are price-fix, accompanied by freshly baked bread, choice of salad and an after dinner treat. Kady's is the 24 hour coffee shop whose T-bone dinner or pancakes we recommend. You will not be disappointed with the World's Fare Buffet.

The Riviera Hotel and Casino Las Vegas has a great location on the north end of the Strip. It's a quick walk to the Circus Circus, which is across the street and a little further south than the Wynn or Fashion Show Mall. The Las Vegas Convention Center is very close. The Deuce bus runs regularly and is conveniently nearby; use it for exploring other casinos and shopping along the Strip.

Live gaming includes craps, blackjack, roulette, etc., with slightly lower limits and more generous games than the center of the Strip. Minimum bets can go up on the weekends. Look for full pay Capital Game Maker VP machines. Cocktail service is fast. You can even get free drinks in the Race and Sports Book. Lots of Nickeltown slots here, more than you'd expect at the Riviera Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.
