sahara las vegas hotel and casino where the platters, coasters and temptations perform every night - by Kiki

Sahara Las Vegas Hotel And Casino

Sahara Las Vegas Hotel And Casino has a great musical history that goes back to the 1950's. Back in 1954, Louis Prima, the King of Swing from New Orleans was a huge attraction for late night entertainment at the Sahara. FYI - his daughter, Lena Prima is also an entertainer and artist who sings and performs her father's repertoire regularly here in Vegas. The musical history lives on and for lively Cabaret singer Kiki Kalor knows how to get the party started in Vegas.

Insider Secret - You must be 18 or older to see the Amazing Jonathan comedy and magic show. He's known for his brazen, off the wall humor. Sidekick, Psychic Tanya adds a lot to the show.

The Sahara Las Vegas Hotel And Casino was the site for Jerry Lewis's Labor Day Telethon for many years in the 70's and 90's. By 2007, he had raised $1.46 billion for Muscular Distrophy. In 1973, at the Sahara, with Jerry's 150 Love Network stations, the telethon was able to break the $10 million mark.

Today the entertainment continues the oldies but goodies tradition. Fab Four are the young and uncanny Beatles impersonators who sing all the favorite hits like Help and I Wanna Hold Your hand. They take their audience through the different Beatles phases from the British Invasion, the groovy 60's, the Magical Mystery Tour and the Summer of Love. With quick costume changes and playing on period instruments, they really do a great job. Don't expect it to be anything like the "Cirque du Soleil" Love tribute at the Mirage.

The Platters, Coasters and Temptations are a triple threat every night in the Congo Room. They take you back to the 50's and 60's with smooth songs like Stand By Me and Under the Boardwalk. Both the Coasters and the Platters were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You'll enjoy walking down Motown lane at this show.

Of course, Vegas is not Vegas without the King. He is alive and well Monday through Saturday in the Sahara Theater. Trent Carlini does a great impersonation of Elvis in his show The Musical History of the King. In July of 2007, Trent was the winner on the TV show The Next Best Thing: Who is the Greatest Celebrity Impersonator and took home $100,000 as grand prize. He has also made appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Catch other impersonators at the Legends in Concert at the Imperial Palace or American Superstars at the Stratosphere.

When you're staying at the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel And Casino and you want to be entertained with a wacky, unconventional show, check out the Amazing Jonathan. It's not for everyone. Keep an open mind as there is lots of adult language throughout. Along with his Psychic Tanya sidekick they are spontaneous and coarse with plenty of twisted jokes and some magic. Very different from Steve Wyrick's magic show at the Planet Hollywood, formerly the Aladdin.

Ticket prices are very reasonable for all shows. You can also enjoy free entertainment at the Casbar Lounge. There is a variety of entertainment to choose from at the Sahara Las Vegas Hotel And Casino.
