Insider Secret - Silverton offers free shuttle service to McCarran International Airport and the Strip. |
Silverton Hotel Casino Las Vegas is located about 3 miles south of Mandalay Bay on I-15 and Blue Diamond Road. Coming from McCarran International Airport, it's a straight shot down highway 15. Silverton offers free shuttle service to the airport and the Strip; otherwise you will want your own car to get around. Southpoint Hotel is nearby, across the I-15.
Rooms and suites are comfortable, spacious and have more of a lodge feel with upscale cabin décor. It's a 300 room hotel with each room featuring comfortable pillow-top beds, just like ones at the Bellagio, and Bath and Body Works products and in-room safe. For an additional fee you can have a mini-bar, Internet access and in-room movies. Room service is 24 hours. You will also enjoy the fitness room.

The Mermaid Restaurant and Lounge is a cool place for people watching and fish watching. This Gaudi-like, decorated lounge has two 500 gallon aquariums filled with jellyfish that glow to changing LED lights. You'll also be mesmerized by the 60" plasma TV screens and watery theme colors throughout.
Sundance Grill is a lodge experience in the desert, open 24 hours, with large portioned steaks and pancake stacks. Twincreeks is a fine dining experience and somewhat pricier. Appetizers like foie gras, pan-seared scallops and steak, lamb and seafood entrees paired with choice wines will keep you satisfied here. You must try Seasons Buffet at least once before you leave. Six live action stations offer a salad bar, seafood, BBQ, Italian, Asian, and don't miss the chocolate fountain desserts. It's comparable to the buffets at the Mirage or Treasure Island.

The artificial reef aquarium is definitely worth seeing at the Silverton Hotel Casino Las Vegas. It is 117,000 gallons with over 4,000 tropical fish. The aquarium is octagonal shaped so you can see all the fish, stingrays and sharks from each side. Take your kids to see the underwater feeding shows which happen 3 times a day, at 1:30, 4:30 and 7:30pm everyday. Afterwards, you can ask the diver questions about the fish or feeding. Also visit the shark tank at the "Golden Nugget", complete with 3 story water slide that takes you through the tank!
But that's not all; there are aquariums everywhere at Silverton. In the Bass Pro Shop, you'll find 3 freshwater aquariums. The shop has everything you need for freshwater, salt water fishing, fly fishing, hunting, camping, apparel, footwear and a huge selection of boats and trailers. This impressive 165,000 square foot, 2 story building is truly a 'Sportsman's Paradise,' and it's only found at the Silverton Hotel Casino Las Vegas.
