International Grocery Stores Las Vegas
International Grocery Stores Las Vegas are all over the valley. Some stores are mom and pop operated and part of a strip mall and other food stores are huge stand alone buildings. Whatever you are need you can find it here. I spend hours walking the aisles of these international grocery stores. I have found the most interesting, fascinating, and down right horrific food products from around the world. I seriously could spend a small fortune at each and every international grocery store I have been to in Las Vegas.
The International Marketplace is a large 3,800 square foot warehouse style building. Basically, it is like a Costco or Sams of international foods, and it is only about four miles west from the Las Vegas Boulevard. Although they offer memberships, you do not have to join to shop here. They will just charge you an extra 5% on your total bill. I think this is a terrific deal if you are just going to be shopping here once. You might feel overwhelmed as you start your journey through some of these aisles because this is not your typical bread, milk and butter grocer. These imported items are the real deal with labels that are not translated in English or have the nutritional labels like you find in America. Amongst the products from England, India, Germany, Denmark, Egypt, Russia, Greece and Asia you start to feel out of your comfort zone with the unfamiliar surrounding you but if you're like me you are completely thrilled for the experience. The store stocks its shelves with products from around the globe and although there is a large Asian section the other half of the store is organized by continent. Along with the aisles of jars, cans, and bags of items, you will find fresh produce, a fish market and a meat counter. There are refrigerated items stocking imported cheese and frozen foods too. Not only does the International Marketplace stock food they have a great selection of home and restaurant cooking supplies from strainers to rice cookers to gargantuan stock pots to Japanese stoneware to furniture.
99 Ranch Market is another one of my favorite international grocery stores in Las Vegas. They are part of China Town in Las Vegas and they have an awesome fresh produce section. I think they have the best produce selection in the city with the staples as well as seasonal fruits and vegetables from around the world. Amongst their fresh seafood selections you can sometimes find toads for sale.
Marianna's has a few stores throughout Las Vegas and they specialize in Latino fare. They have their own in-house tortilleria with prepared foods for you to eat right there. Also, you can purchase marinated carne asada for you to take home and cook. They have fresh pico de gallo, beans and corn tortillas. The people working are really friendly and will help you find whatever you are looking for. The typical produce that Latino cooking calls for is in abundance with excellent prices. I don't know why I even think about shopping at the typical grocery stores when I could be saving money and developing my taste buds at international grocery stores in Las Vegas.
