Las Vegas Restaurant Reviews

Also see my list of all the Restaurant Articles on this site, my favorite restaurants and my simple guide to eating smart in Vegas: strategies for getting great food cheap. I love to eat. I enjoy eating so much I actually had to start taking those women's Hoodia diet pills seen on Oprah just to get back into shape. They seriously work. If you own or manage one of the joints listed below that got a negative review, contact me so I can go over more details on how customers like me are perceiving your restaurant.

The Broiler is located inside the Palace Station hotel and casino just off the strip on Sahara. Easy parking and fantastic affordable meals make this worth the visit for tourists. The Broiler serves a delicious all you can eat side salad bar with any entrees. The salad bar has many unique and delicious foods, dishes and soups beyond those of an ordinary lettuce and pudding bar. I eat the best fish dish in the entire valley here. Just order the Halibut broiled. Then add the $5 extra order of Pontchartrain sauce: a delicious white onion sauce covering huge chunks of seafood served steaming hot and smelling wonderful. Quiet atmosphere punctuated with completely nautical based decorations and furnishings make this a great place for a great meal. I had the lunch special for $11 that was simply unbelievable: Shrimp and Scallop Divoli over linguini. Fantastic light red sauce pasta dish with the biggest most delicious shrimp and scallops I have ever eaten PLUS the all you can eat salad bar. There is nothing like it for this price anywhere in Vegas.

Blue Martini is located inside the massive outdoor street style Town Square shopping district. Super comfortable unique wide open seating, great service, cool ambiance with live music on stage sometimes and seating for 300-500 people through out make this a huge fun restaurant bar hang out. We go between 4 pm and 7 pm any day for half priced happy hour where EVERYTHING on the menu is half price, food and drinks. Then walk off the effects of dinner by strolling the shoppe lined streets for hours or catch a movie at the top rated Rave Theater. This place gets packed after 6ish most days and weekends can be crazy loud and fun. My friend and fellow writer Mark says Blue Martini has the best happy hour in Vegas.

Las Vegas Hilton Buffet - great service, decent barbecue ribs, and best buffet clam chowder I have ever had. On the down side however I cannot recommend this buffet. It was located next to the sports book and therefore very noisy and very small. Half the entrees that were supposed to be hot were cold, and many that were supposed to be cold were luke warm, terrible overcooked fish and shrimp. At $19 it is way too expensive for this lack luster experience. These issues are exactly why for many many years I wouldn't eat at any buffet in the country. I mean if the food sucks why do I want an "all you can eat" experience? The Bellagio Buffet changed all that for me and now I try all buffets hoping for a great meal.

Archies Thai Bistro - 4 locations in the valley, incredible quality, service, atmosphere and prices. Best meals include eggplant, red or yellow chicken curry dishes, famous pad Thai noodle dish. GO you'll not be disappointed.

BLT Burger by Bistro Laurent Tourondel inside the Mirage casino and hotel in Las Vegas serves classic pitiful overpriced bust the drunk tourist and take him for everything you can meals. Huge panoramic outdoor scene murals cover the walls and lots of cute young girls hanging around the front entrance are about the ONLY reason anyone should even think about eating here. I spent nearly $20 for the burger, shake and fries and they were pathetic. It was a dry overcooked tiny 7 oz precooked size burger accompanied by about 12 hard fries choked down with a decent SMALL milkshake. Do not waste your money as this BLT Burger eatery restaurant is not worth the time it takes to read the menu. Walk up check out the scenery then find a better place to eat.

Pampas Brazilian Grille is located inside Planet Hollywood. Waiters walk around and serve you hot fresh custom meats shaved off the stick right at your table in small amounts as you want them. That way nothing is wasted and its always hot. They had some of the best marinated chicken I have ever had along with specialty Brazilian sausages, steak choices, seafood and more. You have access to a unique all you can eat salad bar that has all your vegetables, starches, and other interesting dishes. Comfortable, good service, lots of different races dining here, expensive but nice. Lunch is about half the price of dinner.

Grand Lux Cafe serves huge portions from a giant cheap menu of entrees mostly in the $12-$18 range. They have specialty drinks, big weird salads and meals like one of my favorites the Indochine shrimp and Chicken with spicy curry and peanut sauces fused together along side white jasmine rice. All salads and entrees are more fun if you share them and since they are so big it makes it easy not to get too much of a good thing. Grand Lux Cafe is a big restaurant which means you rarely wait for a seat. They do have a little bar area out front also and some seating along side the casino traffic outside the main dining area for people watching. Bathrooms are outside which is a hassle. It can get busy and loud here especially on weekends and during special events. Grand Lux is owned by the same group that owns the Cheesecake factory so you can get cheesecake for dessert if you want. I recommend smoothing better though if you order 20 minutes ahead. For dessert order the dozen hot baked pecan chocolate chip cookies as they are delivered warm and baked to order! A highly rated restaurant for breakfast lunch or dinner at this price, selection and portion size along with being in one of the best casinos in town, the Venetian. You can often get food delivered to the poker table too so you can eat good while you play.

WolfGang Puck inside the MGM hotel and casino on the strip in Las Vegas is an average food kind of restaurant. Meals seemed worth what they cost except for the specialty soups which are $12 for a small bowl. The $14 Calzones are quite ordinary. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly and our waiter explained the menu well. L shaped restaurant borders casino floor so you can people watch the whole meal if you want. Loud, active, bright, upbeat atmosphere make this an exceptionally good place to take a larger group. They have some high top tables that seat 12 or more. You can eat a the bar. Drinks are $10 - $14 a glass.

Roma Deli on Spring Mountain Road in Las Vegas is a good place to eat lunch. Many people came in and bought food in medium to large take out containers, paid and left. Though the restaurant gets attention the deli reputation is quite popular. There are over 40 custom prepared dishes in the glass cases for viewing like imported one of a kind meats, olives, salads, pastas, breads and desserts. They have a small shelved area where you can buy specialty products like gallon sized cans of tomato sauce that Roma Deli and Restaurant management import to use in preparing their meals. I had the meatball sub which was dumb since the bread they serve is good enough as it is. You shouldn't add a sandwich (lots more bread) but instead try something unique like the eggplant or sausage rolls made with expensive imported meats. For locals I recommend Roma but for tourists it is not worth the trip off the strip. Call ahead as they have weird hours sometimes.

Yard House located in Town Square in the restaurant district offers great upscale pub style eating with large booths, cool layout, nice staff and great prices. The buffalo wings are as good as Hooters... almost but skip the blue crab cakes as they are just frozen small size junk. Yard House is known for its big selection of half priced appetizers and drinks Monday - Friday 3pm - 6pm and Sunday to Wednesday from 11pm to close. Real good place to have a larger group. Not a quiet place but fun and upbeat. Yard House is known for playing classic rock n’ roll music and claim to have the world’s largest selection of draft beer. Kelly had the mellow Hoegaarden White beer and Lettuce Wraps with shiitake & portabella mushrooms and I ate Spicy Chicken Breast and the Brazilian Lemonade.
