Insider Secret - If you want to sample some of the best food in town from top restaurants in Vegas, come to the Epicurean Affair held at one of the casinos each May. |

Probably the best buffet restaurant of them all is at "Bellagio" Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, where they have an unlimited supply of huge, Alaskan King crab legs like the one pictured here. Diners pile their plates high with the bright legs as Bellagio watches and smiles. For under $30, you will eat like a king and queen. Look for discounts using your players card. Gamblers often get their buffet comped.
Vegas use to be a town of buffets. The buffet was invented, so it goes, to keep people at casinos gambling. Lunch, dinner, breakfast was basically on them. Buffets are still a great way to eat in Vegas. Running neck and neck with Las Vegas best restaurant is the Bellagio Buffet, universally recognized as the pinnacle place to chow down gourmet style. Bellagio is not the most expensive buffet, that honor goes to the Village Seafood Buffet at the Rio. When considering buffets, also consider Sunday afternoon brunch for your Las Vegas restaurant. There are more than 30 major ones to choose from, some include entertainers like Kiki Kalor.
Rio has more than 16 places to dine inside the casino, not including room service. In fact today every casino has a smorgasbord of dining options that is more than the ordinary mortal can comprehend. Casinos are serious about keeping you on premise. The average stay per visitor is 2 days and 2 nights. With about 8 dining options per casino, it's a sure bet you will be spending a lot of time in your casino eating at their restaurants. Casinos are well aware of how competitive it is out there, so they are constantly improving their restaurants and adding new ones. That is a great benefit to you as a diner.

I try not to have dessert when I eat out at a restaurant on the Strip in Las Vegas, so I can go to the authentic French pastry shops like Payard pictured here in Caesar's or Jean-Philippe at Bellagio. That black dome in the back of this photo is called the Louvre, and it's filled with hazelnut mousse, and hazelnuts. Wow!
I have so many favorite eating places, from Wolfgang Puck at MGM to the Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood, named for the owner Robert Earl. Wolfgang Puck makes great drinks and it also has gourmet food in every price range. You can go light with a truly delicious gourmet, wood-fired pizza and salad to full on steak, fish and chops. I wish more restaurants would adopt this fare, so we don't have to eat like we have two stomachs at our Las Vegas restaurant.
