aliante golf course las vegas is a championship course in north las vegas - by Mike

Aliante Golf Course Las Vegas

Aliante Golf Course Las Vegas is found north of the Strip. You will need to rent a car to get there if you are visiting and staying on the Strip. This Gary Panks designed course opened in 2003. It's a beautiful course with pear and purple locust trees and Mondale pines providing a splash of color to the eye. There is a groomed arroyo winding through most of the course so be prepared to use every club you own.

This is not a short, wide, playable course like "National Golf Club." Aliante Golf Course Las Vegas is a memorable 18-hole championship course that can result in slow play, lost balls and scorecards crowded with X's.

The levels of the course seem to play tricks on the eyes, while I can tell you there are generous landing areas. This centerpiece of Del Webb community is similar to the "Rio Secca golf course" in the south, and was voted number one by readers of Las Vegas Golf Magazine. It's a good venue for your next "Las Vegas golf vacation."

Aliante means soaring in Italian. I hope it's your good feelings, not your ball as you try to hit your way out of this challenging course. Better for a picnic some say. It costs between $30 and $110 to play here depending on the season. A cart comes with the green fee. And you may rent clubs.

They have lessons, putting green, snack bar and a restaurant called the Grille which has excellent food. Aliante is a par-72, 7022 yard course with undulating greens that can be severe. It's funny but a lot of golfers will not take golf lessons. They rely on tips from their buddies. Did you know Tiger Woods takes golf lessons, just like the great tennis players who have coaches and are continually taking lessons?

Golf is a technical game. You can get better, correct slices, analyze your problem. There are lots of great places for golf lessons in Las Vegas. Check out some of the golf packages that include lessons.

Remember to plan ahead. Even though there are lots of golf courses in Vegas, there are also lots of golfers. You may not be able to get a time on the course you want if you don't reserve ahead.
