Callaway Golf Center Las Vegas
Callaway
Golf Center Las Vegas is located near Mandalay
Bay and Bali Hai Golf Club. Callaway sits
a little below these two, on the south end of the Strip at Sunset Road and I-215.
Callaway is a practice center, a golf course and one of the best golf
schools in Las Vegas. It also has a golf shop with the largest inventory of Callaway
products in the country. The name Callaway is recognizable to all golfers as a premier
maker of golf balls and golf clubs like the Big Bertha line. Callaway Golf Center
and Giant Golf Academy share the same location, and have been repeated voted best
practice facility by both readers and staff at VegasGolf Magazine. Besides having
a practice course, Callaway has a golf course known as the Divine Nine. It has water
holes, undulating greens and strategically placed bunkers that make it a solid challenge
to players at every skill level. I found I can practice there with either irons or
drivers. Divine Nine is a fully lit, par-3 course. The great thing about Callaway
golf course is its open day and night. Call for exact hours; 10pm use to be last round
during the summer. The practice facility includes a giant putting green that
is a lot of fun. There is also a driving range with 113 hitting stations positioned
at target greens; grass stations are a few bucks more. Both are lit for night time
action, and you will meet a lot of people there. During the day, the Giant Golf
Academy, which is part Callaway Golf Center, comes alive. There are golf
lessons in every form: including a 9-hole playing lesson for $125, Quick Fixes
are 15 minutes long and include a video tape for $30. There are hour lessons, half-hour
lessons. Also a grand package of 3 hours of instruction and a 9-hole actual playing
lesson for about $400. Instructors are all PGA and thoroughly professional; Giant
Academy is thought of as one of the best “schools of golf in Las Vegas”. You
can’t miss the St. Andrews Golf Store at Callaway. Besides having the largest
selection of Callaway products in the country, St Andrews also has a “try it
before you buy it” policy that goes well with the practice facility at hand.
Trained pros are there to help with your important club fitting. I have found them
to offer well-seasoned advice, probably since Callaway is really all about practice
and training. Getting hungry reading all this. Try Callaway’s Bistro 10.
It’s a smoking little dinette with lots of people getting together to talk about,
well, their stroke. Bistro 10 stays open till Callaway closes. Try the key lime pie.
They get it just right at Callaway Golf Center Las Vegas.
