Callaway Golf Course Las Vegas
Callaway
Golf Course Las Vegas is a cool little 9-hole playing/practice course that
stays open late into the night. It’s appropiately named the Divine Nine. Each
hole sits off of the large practice green in the center; it kinda of looks like a
bear claw from the sky. You zig-zag back and forth as you play, yet it’s long
enough to use your drivers. I like this course to practice on, or blow out a little
steam; it attracts interesting people as well. Callaway sits on the south end
of the Strip, just below Mandalay Bay
and Bali Hai Golf Club. It’s easy to get
to off the I-15 or I-215, as its nestled between Sunset Road and I-215. if you go
during the day you can take advantage of its other facilty – the Giant Golf
Academy, where you can expect a resolute “golf lesson” by some of the
best PGA instructors in the country. Callaway is a practice center, a golf course
and one of the best golf schools in Las Vegas.
It also has a golf shop with the largest inventory of Callaway products in the country.
The name Callaway is instantly recognizable to all golfers as a premier maker of golf
balls and golf clubs like the Big Bertha line. Callaway Golf Center and Giant
Golf Academy share the same location, and have been voted best practice facility by
both readers and staff time and again at VegasGolf Magazine. Start on the oversized
practice green, join the ranks of those working off their recent instructions. You
will see some pretty crazy things as folks try to use what they were just told. But
golf is a game that takes practice. That’s your excuse, that’s why you
play a lot! Then make your way to Callaway’s own playing course, known
as the Divine Nine. This nine hole course has water holes, undulating greens and strategically
placed bunkers that make it a lot of fun for players at every skill level. I found
I can practice there with either irons or drivers. There is even a waterfall and colorful
desert vegatation. It’s a tight course, I think that’s what brings the
golfers together more than any other course I have been on. Vegas is full of Italians,
one night I heard a guy singing some Verdi. It was well done and in good taste. Last
round comes at 9pm in the winter and 10pm summer. There is also a driving range
with 113 hitting stations positioned at target greens. A few more dollars will get
you grass stations. It’s lit for night time hitting. During the day, the
Giant Golf Academy, which is part Callaway Golf Center, comes alive. There are golf
lessons like the 9-hole playing lesson for $125; Quick Fixes are 15 minutes long
and include a video tape for $30. Giant has really gotten into electronic sofware.
What they do, is record yoru stroke before the lesson and compare it after the lesson.
Instructors can also e-mail students a virtual lesson with swing changes. Lessons
come in every form: half-hour, hour, half day, 3 days. Giant also sells an interesting
package that has 3 hours of instruction and a 9-hole actual playing lesson for about
$400. Instructors are all PGA; this is one of the best schools
of golf in Las Vegas. You can’t miss the St. Andrews
Golf Store at Callaway. Besides having the largest selection of Callaway products
in the country, St Andrews also has a "try it before you buy it golf" policy
that works well with their practice facility on the grounds. Trained pros are at hand
to help with you when you need that important club fitting. I have found these seasoned
pros to offer great free advice. Take time to enjoy the 10th hole, Callaway’s
Bistro 10 that is. It’s a hot little diner with lots of people getting together
to talk about, well, about their adventures
in Vegas. Bistro 10 stays open till the course closes. Try the peach
cobbler, it's delicious. Everything come up peaches at the Callaway Golf Course
Las Vegas. callaway
golf course las vegas is the best practice course in town especially for visitors
