Discount Golf
Discount
golf is a great way to offset the rising price of golfing in Las Vegas. With green
fees on courses going over $500, all of us need a way to lower the cost of playing
at the courses we really like. Las Vegas is a world-class golfing destination which
also means world-class prices. We will show you how to find real deals. First
and foremost, learn to ask for your golf discount. Ask for a better deal. There are
a lot of people getting plenty of free goodies in Vegas. Ask yourself why them and
not you. If it's not free, then there is always a better deal. I don't like freeloaders
any better than you. It's just that too often the same people get the freebies, while
the other people have to pay. So, let's spread the goodies out a little bit by asking
for them.
Twilight
in Las Vegas during the summer is a great time to discount golf as seen in this picture.
Most of the Las Vegas Golf courses have this discount. As a golfer there
are terms you want to look and ask for that will help get you a lower rate at the
courses. Midweek is discount golf at 9 out of 10 courses. Midweek means Monday through
Friday to some, and Monday through Thursday for others. After 12 pm will often get
your rate slashed by 40%. See what you are missing if you don't ask! Resorts
will also comp you if you stay at their hotel several times a year and the only way
to get a golfing comp is if they know you golf. They all have arrangements with some
of the golf courses. Golf is big business in Vegas, and they cater to what their guests
want. You are much more likely to be comped if you live out of town. Vegas likes to
give back to get back. Why? The average visitor spends over $600 gambling. I
have a good friend who gets comps all the time. He has an address in Florida. But
he lives in Vegas. Casinos are always sending comps back to Florida for free rooms,
because they think he travels to Vegas 12 - 15 times a year! Yes he gambles. But only
a couple of hundred dollars here and there. Locals get lower pricing. I don't
know why. It's just a thing Vegas has. They didn't have it in New Orleans or San Diego
or New York City, or any other city I have lived in. I think locals
get lower prices because the full price is just too darn high. Looking at another
way, locals pay the going rate. Out-of-towners pay too much. Really the locals are
paying less as much as the tourists are paying too much. Try to get yourself
a local "Las Vegas Drivers License" to get in on all the locals deals: golfing,
clubbing, free slot money. As a golfer the next best thing is to play with locals.
A little networking should pay off. You can even try some the "locals networking
events" if you get stumped. They are for business people. And lots of business
people play golf. Off-season here is the winter or summer. The casinos will
provide the smart shopper with an opportunity for a wider choice in discounts. It
can be helpful to speak with a live operator. Make sure you go into your deal in detail.
Try to get a better deal on the phone. Don't take the first deal they offer. We're
not suckers. We're just golfers looking for discount golf.
