North Las Vegas Golf Courses
North
Las Vegas golf courses has over 16 golf courses for you to choose from. From the
super-expensive, elite Shadow Creek Golf Club to municipal courses like North Las
Vegas Par-3, there is something for every budget and
every aspiration. If you are staying on the Strip you will need to rent a car to get
there. Paiute Golf Resort is highly recommended by golfers as a
great course. It is actually 3 courses and has great stay and play packages and a winning club house and restaurant. It's also a great deal if you are a local,
or play with one. It is the furthest north of our North Las Vegas golf courses but
well worth the drive. You can learn more about it on our Las
Vegas Paiute Golf page.
This photo of a golfer on the north Las Vegas golf course Paiute tells why you should
consider driving here even if you are staying on the Strip. Paiute has more available
water than any other course, and it shows in their beautiful upkeep and large water
elements.
Craig Ranch Golf Course is an 18-hole municipal
golf course that plays fast, has hard ground with mulch and wood chips for roughs.
It's not highly rated by users, but it's cheap and everyone agrees the staff is friendly.
In contrast, Shadow Creek Golf Club
is what they call golf art for the sheer beauty of its design and use of natural elements.
Shadow Creek is one of the more unusual North Las Vegas golf courses. The whole
track is dug 60 feet into the desert, so you can not see it from the road, nor can
you see out to the desert. However you must be a guest at one of the MGM properties to play here, and the green fee is quite steep unless MGM decides to comp you.
See our photo of hole 18.
Shadow Creek Golf Course is the elite of north Las Vegas golf courses as
photo of hole 18 shows why every golfer dreams of playing here. It's now an MGM property
and you must be a guest of one the MGM hotels to play here.
When I play big, expensive courses with caddies and
partners who talk too much, I start to make bad shots. I tell myself I'll make it
up on the next shot. That's when I begin in earnest to hold my clubs too tightly.
Now the balls are flying in every direction. My partner had a secret for working
his way out of this kind of tension. He had a list of game savers he would carry around,
pull out and read when he was making a bad time for himself. I remember one the tips
was about balance. You need to stand balanced on your feet with no more pressure on
the front of the foot than on the back foot. Try positioning yourself behind the ball
and swinging lightly through without making any effort to focus on the distribution
of the weight on you feet. It worked for him.
Aliante golf course in this image is another magnificent golfing experience
to be had on north Las Vegas golf courses. The interplay between mountains, water
and sky makes playing golf in Vegas world class.
Aliante Golf Club is another North Las Vegas golf course found to be exciting and challenging by many
golfers. It's an 18-hole course that is over 7,000 yards long. There is a winding
arroyo that effects play on 14 holes and results in interesting contours, angles and
lies. You will use every club in your bag. Vegas is an average of 65 degrees with sunshine
in the winter, so we golf here all year round. When they aren't flying planes they
are golfing at Nellis Air force Base. It has 4 golf courses: Thunderbird, Phantom,
Falcon and Eagle. You will have to join the air force or befriend a flyer to get to
play these tracks. Beware of low flying Harrier jets! Everyday is a great day for
golf on any of our 16 North Las Vegas golf courses.
