Vegas National Golf Course
Vegas
National Golf Course is a beautiful alternative to the high green fees of competitors.
Low priced and charming, with its clear views of the mountains, you won't believe
you are 2 miles from the Strip and Convention Center. National is one of the oldest
courses in Vegas. In fact, National used to be private. It was the personal
digs for the likes of "Frank Sinatra", Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr,
closed to the public. These megastars could be seen nearly everyday golfing in the
60's. Consequently this course has had a lot of history - recently Casino with Robert
DeNiro and Sharon Stone was filmed there. Vegas National Golf Course is a public
resort - 18 holes, par 71, yardage of 6,872 feet blue tees, designed by Bert Stamps
in 1961. It's located on the East side of Strip, on Desert Inn Road before Eastern.
Many holes are hard times with water, lakes and slopes surrounding the back greens,
winds add to difficulty. Lots of trees, olive, palm and pine line the fairways. Golf
carts allowed on fairways except in October during seeding. Green fees range from
$79 to $160. However, substantial discounts from the going green fees are available
at the clubhouse, just ask. Carts included with fee, rental clubs available, facilities
for eating and events, easy parking off Desert Inn in front of club. This oasis
in the desert has also hosted many tournaments, including PGA and LPGA, Tournament
of Champions and the Las Vegas Invitational. In fact we held a Team Scramble Tournament
there last year, with 50/50 holes, gambling boards, VIP holes, raffles, posters, party
after at clubhouse, it went like clockwork. Talk to Bobby or Rich at 702-734-1796.
Plan ahead, busy months are April, May, June, September, October and November. The
course also has a driving range, night lit. Clubhouse, dining, catering, even weddings
are held here. Tournaments every week, remember to plan ahead for a fun day of golf
at Vegas National Golf Course.
