wynn las vegas golf is a golfers dream - by Mike

Wynn Las Vegas Golf

Wynn Las Vegas Golf is not for the faint of heart. If money is a concern you might want to check out our pages for budget golfing. Wynn does everything in grand style and his latest golf course is no exception.

The idea behind the course is you won't believe you are golfing on the Strip, in the middle of a desert. Believe me this place looks like Colorado with its lakes, wide rolling rivers, 55 foot high waterfalls, wide stretches of wide fairways and virtual forests of trees.

There are actually 2 places to golf on the Strip. The other is Bali Hai Golf Club, at the other end of the Strip. There is one more course just off the Strip near Bali Hai Golf; it's called Callaway Golf Center. It's a 9-hole course that is very convenient and good for practice, and there is also a golf school, Giant Academy, for affordable golf lessons in every shape and size.

To golf at Wynn, you must be staying at the Wynn, or be the guest of a hotel guest. Next you must come up with multiple hundreds of dollars unless you have been comped. Want to be comped, gamble. Gamble a lot! Golfers who don't want to pay these prices and want to get off-Strip can try Paiute Golf Course, about 35 minutes from the Strip.

This young course is 18 holes and covers 138 acres. It's over 7,000 yards from tip to tip; there are 11 holes with water. The Wynn Las Vegas golf course is a par-70 with slope rating of 124. More than 800,000 cubic yards of dirt was moved around to create dramatic elevation changes. Penn Links Bentgrass greens were made to USGA specifications, while Tifway II Hybrid Bermuda covers the fairways and tees. 6,000 trees were brought in from North Carolina.

The Wynn Las Vegas golf course is Steve Wynn's second golf course he built with Tom Fazio, ASGCA. The first was Shadow Creek Golf Course, when Wynn owned the Mirage. Both courses have waterfalls, rivers, rocks and lots of trees. The Wynn Golf Course was completed in 2005.

"Steve Wynn" has tournaments that are unique and televised. They have names like "The Ultimate Game at Wynn Las Vegas." True to the Steve Wynn style the payout was $2 million dollars. That is more than the U.S. Open, The Masters, The British Open or the PGA Tournament pay out. Ultimate Game was open to any male or female golfer who has never been a fully-exempt member of the PGA TOUR, PGA European Tour, Champions Tour, or Nationwide Tour. The entry fee was $50,000 per golfer!

Golfers need never lack a reason or a time to come to Las Vegas, as tournaments are held all year around. Plan your trip to Vegas around golf! If you want to golf on the Strip, then golf at Wynn Las Vegas Golf.
