Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas has new theatres and bars which are great for a strip hotel - by Kiki

Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas

Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas has recently been infused with $120 million for renovations. The facelift is both external and internal. Although the Aladdin has been through many changes over the years including bankruptcies and a demolition, it is poised to compete with neighboring casinos. The infusion of money has brought the casino to star level.

Its updated design is a cross between the sleekness of Hollywood and the glamour of Vegas. The new sign on top of the building reads Planet Hollywood. The Sheraton Resort bought the Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas in 2003 and spent 2006-2007 remodeling it. It features imaginative shows and bars. The gaming room, where much of the facelift took place is brightly lit with neon walls and lighting fixtures that subtly change colors.

In this Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas image you'll notice the Moroccan theme is out and the Hollywood glitz is in.

Steve Wyrick, famous for his big magic tricks like landing a Lear jet on the stage, spent nearly $60 million building a showroom, a nightclub and magic store. It's in the Aladdin shopping mall near the self-parking garage. Well worth seeing. Meet Steve and take a photo with him after his show in the lobby. Stomp Out Loud is the dynamic dance and drum show in the new showroom built to accommodate it on the Mezzanine level.

The mall is still half Aladdin and half Planet Hollywood. Some favorite places to eat there are Aladdin's Spice Market Buffet which is one of the best on the Strip, Blondie's Sports bar and Grill with over 30 large screens simultaneously playing, La Salsa Cantina known for it's margaritas by the yard and take home souvenir glass plus many more restaurants. In the Miracle Mile mall, you're sure to find the shop you want with over 140 stores like Urban Outfitters, bebe, BCBG Max Azaria, GAP Body and The Discovery Channel Store.

Some things that haven't changed are the guest rooms, the pools and the parking. To self-park and drag your suitcases to the check-in desk is a hike through the shopping mall and the casino. Valet parking is so much easier and convenient. For a few bucks you can have peace of mind and rested feet. You'll need your feet when you want to visit the modernized Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas and other casinos on the Strip.

The pools are nothing to write home about except that by being on the sixth floor, they have the best view of the Strip. They are seasonal so check with the front desk regarding dates and times they are open. Don't get caught off-guard thinking you can swim there year around.

The hotel rooms haven't received the facelift yet. Some will look a little worn but if you can get a room facing the Strip you'll have a sensational view of the Paris Eiffel Tower, the Bellagio fountains and the nightlife. For a fee, internet access is available in your room.

The new Heart's Bar is the latest hot spot where the young and beautiful come to be seen. Waitresses serve Vegas' signature martinis in their sexy black leather go-go outfits. FYI - Be aware that prostitutes sometimes hang out at the bar. If you're looking to be dazzled by the glamour of Vegas, Hollywood style, definitely stay at the Aladdin Hotel Las Vegas.
