It's been said the hotel was more than a budget or super discount hotel. It's been called cheap but it sold out every weekend. It was the type of hotel you basically came back to sleep in after partying on the Strip all night. Or you could lounge around the pool and hot tub in a quiet, private setting. It is located on Tropicana Avenue, west of the I-15 about 1 mile from the Strip. It offers off-Strip prices with a location that makes it easy to access the freeway, the Strip hotels and more. It is only 2 miles from McCarran International Airport and 3 miles from the Las Vegas Convention Center. Taking a cab, it's just minutes from the Excalibur, the Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and the Tropicana. Across the street, you can catch the monorail at the MGM Grand, which will take you to the Las Vegas Convention Center and as far as the Sahara on the north end of the Strip.

The Golden Palm Hotel Las Vegas lounge offered margaritas, draft beer, hot dogs and shrimp cocktails at Happy Hour prices. It was known as a karaoke lounge with local talent dropping in to sing 7 days a week. There was also an area for dancing. Happy hour was every Friday from 3 - 7pm and included free appetizers. The Golden Palm Café had a full dining menu or take-out at any time of the day or night. You could order sandwiches, burgers, pork chops, steaks and salads.

Standard Deluxe rooms at the Golden Palm Hotel Las Vegas were spacious and came with either 2 queens or 1 king bed. Amenities in the rooms included coffee maker, hair dryer, cable TV with remote control, voice mail, Internet access with a surcharge and AM/FM radio clock, - although management could not guarantee that all these were always available and always working. For irons, ironing board, safe deposit boxes and rental cars, you would have to check with them at the front desk. Kids, 12 years old or under could stay for free at the hotel. No pets were allowed in the hotel.

The 35 foot pool was seasonal, as it was not heated. It was secluded and private with a sundeck. The Jacuzzi could hold up to 10 people and was open all year around. It was not really a place to be seen or get discovered. When you like to party at the Strip and have an inexpensive place to stay, a good choice was the Golden Palm Hotel Las Vegas.
