Insider Secret - If it's women you want to meet, go to the Mandalay Bay. They walk around in small and large groups. They are usually dressed up and seem to be looking for the party or a nice place to eat. I've never seen more women than at the Mandalay Bay. |
A big favorite for informal dining is Giorgio's Ristorante E Caffee. Great tasting pasta for dinner and gelato for dessert. I send lots of people there. It's more traditional than Café Martorano at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. If you want to get rowdy with your friends go to the Border Grill. You can select between dining on the patio or one of two dining floors. Portions are large and margaritas will keep you animated.
Red, White and Blue is situated next to the casino floor. I recommend the spaghetti and meatballs. In the Red, you can choose from an all-American menu. Check out the oyster bar if you are with a date. The White is designed for coffees and desserts and the Blue serves sandwiches. There are more places to choose from for dining at the Mandalay Bay that at the neighboring Luxor.
If you've never eaten in the House of Blues, it's an experience. It's like being in a Southern blues memorabilia museum with Southern food and blues music to match. If you want to try spicy foods in Vegas, try the Creole Jambalaya or the Cajun gumbos. Their Sunday Gospel brunch is legendary and includes live music.
For a totally different and romantic place to dine try the Red Square at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. You'll be greeted by a large statue of Lenin (sans tête) and invited to snuggle up and dine in the plush red velvet décor. The caviar selection is amazing and only topped by over 200 types of vodkas! A much more sophisticated experience compared to Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York Hotel Las Vegas.
Rumjungle is another favorite place to dine. It's hot, literally. When you enter, you must 'go through the fire,' a 22-foot high wall of fire, before being seated. The cuisine is a fusion of Cuban, Caribbean and Brazilian. It will surely show you why we love spicy foods. Of course you can guess that because Rumjungle is in Vegas, you have an incredible selection of rums to choose from. The restaurant morphs into a nightclub at night and really sizzles.
Fleur de Lys at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas is a very French dining experience in a modern wood and stone setting. It gives you the feeling of dining in a private French chateau with award-winning Chef Huber Keller at the helm. With over 10,000 wines to choose from, it's no wonder visitors choose to dine at Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.
