New York New York Hotel Las Vegas

New York-New York's facade was designed to mimic the real New York skyline including the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, water craft out front and even the Brooklyn Bridge. Inside it has a Central Park look and feel along with a small replica of Times Square calls to the drinkers with many bars and eateries like Nathan's hot dogs.

People seem to really like this place though it doesn't do anything for me. My wife Kelly likes the roller coaster that runs in and out of the structure around facing the strip, and back again at speeds over 60 miles per hour. There is an amusement park too for kids but once again this place doesn't work for me.

The nastiest most vulgar show in Vegas is New York's Zumanity version of Cirque du Soleil. I am serious. Do NOT go to this show unless you are seriously prepared for vulgarity. I am not talking understated sexiness here. I mean totally unromantic in your face vileness. Your date will almost surely be turned off unless they are drunk possibly.

Make sure your room is above the roller coaster tracks. It runs through the casino as well as along the Strip and can be heard slightly in the rooms. It runs until 11 pm most nights. Don't expect to make coffee or tea in your room, the hotel does not provide coffee makers.

Nightclubs, Lounges: Nine Fine Irishmen for the big drinkers and Coyote Ugly is the best they have for party freaks, all designed to use you, the audience, to make them money.
Casino: 80,000+ square feet, including Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Keno, Let It Ride, Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker, Poker, Roulette, more than 2,600 slot machines, and poker room, race & sports book has seating for 40 people with 40 TV's and 12+ big screens for viewing major events.
Entertainment: Zumanity, the most crass show in Vegas
Extras: The Roller Coaster at 60 miles an hour is breathtaking
Pools: 1 big pool and few hot tubs.
Health Club or Spa: both but nothing real fancy
Shopping: shops and little restaurants sprinkled about with my son Ben's favorite Houdini's Magic Shop. Check out this list for serious shopping.

Pets allowed: No
Parking garage: plenty of free indoor parking in the 8 story garage
Shuttle service to the airport: back and forth to the airport by a private company, better to take a cab unless you are real short on cash.
Shuttle service to Strip: New York is ON the strip, no shuttle needed
Hotel amenities: Typical, plus valet parking, salon, currency exchange, laundry, luggage handling, electronic check-out.
