Palms Hotel Las Vegas
Palms is all about television, Hollywood, film, movie stars, glitter and glitz, rock stars and anything media. Everything they do here is designed to make you feel like you are now part of the "in" crowd that you always dreamed about when watching the big screen. It all started with MTV's Real World, then various televised poker events until they outgrew the place, followed by the over the top Playboy tie in by offering the worlds only real Playboy Club. Palms is independently owned and without its California connections would be nothing special. As it turns out this is many peoples favorite casino hotel in Vegas. Why? I think because they have so MUCH variety and yet everything is contained within tight boundaries so it is not overwhelmingly big. This is why the movie stars and people who don't want to be bothered by the average Joe asking for an autograph play and stay here. This is why they were able to build and finish a gigantic tower of first class condominiums and suites which nearly sold out even in the midst of the 2008 Vegas real estate issues.
The Palms Casino Resort pictured in Las Vegas is more understated than some of the other strip casinos, but there is definitely a young hot crowd here all the time.
I think the weirdest thing about this place is they seem to make so much money from all their clubs, pool parties, restaurants, shows, special events, room rentals, etc. that they almost seem to diminish the gambling part of it all. You don't get the feeling that they are out to get your money in the casino. It feels more like a collection of expensive parties, concerts and shows back to back that you somehow magically got invited to. Palms is a magnet for the young and beautiful and celebrities from all over the world. If you want to people watch get here. With 4 major distinctive nightclubs like the including the Playboy Club, plus a real high level tattoo studio, and a pool scene that is the best in Vegas for its size, Palms is a one-stop destination for many Californians who don't even make it to the strip. Pool scene here is happening with live concerts, DJs, and 3 bars and cabanas for private partying. Rent a 2 story bungalows and stay by the pool all day. Although not as large as the beach pool at the Mandalay Bay, these are decidedly more adult. You won't want to miss the pool parties during the summer at the Palms Hotel. Incredible! Nightclubs rule at the Palms. Moon way at the top has a giant retractable roof. Rain has huge fireballs and gyrating water fountains. Ghostbar is my favorite. It is just so unique. Ghost is inside and outside all at once like Rio's Voodoo lounge.
