las vegas south point hotel my experiences at this slightly remote Vegas strip hotel casino - by Jason

South Point Hotel Las Vegas

South Point Casino picture
South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas picture has a top class Equestrian Center with the best horse shows I have ever seen. Best of all, many of them have been free to the public including some rodeos.

Pretty casino, very clean, spacious and uncrowded except for the popular buffet, brightly lit interior surprises many as it appears almost like a big fun mall gameroom with happy people flowing all over. The entire casino is so well ventilated it seems almost as if it is completely smoke free.

The Sports Book at Southpoint Casino Hotel Las Vegas picture shows the large clean area that many frugal locals love.

Southpoint Casino Hotel usually has no cover salsa dancing on Thursday nights; dance bands on Monday and Saturday nights, and a Purple Reign tribute show on some Friday nights. All shows and activites are either very cheap or free and they always have an open "every body lets have fun" feel.

Award-winning Michael's, considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in Vegas, has a 50-seat gourmet room with the finest filet mignon, lamb chops, filet of wild salmon or veal piccata. Reservations can be filled months in advance for Michael's but I have never eaten here.
