stratosphere hotel las vegas offers clean rooms for visitors on a budget - by Kiki

Stratosphere Hotel Las Vegas

Stratosphere Hotel Las Vegas - the word 'top' comes to mind. It's at the top or north part of the Strip, the scariest rides are on top of the tower and you can dine at the Top of the World restaurant. At 1,149 feet, the tower happens to be the tallest observation tower in America. Back in the 1990's when it was first conceived by the flamboyant Bob Stupack, the tower was supposed to have a giant gorilla that would wisk visitors up and down the tower. It's a signature building in Vegas like the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, France.

The Las Vegas Stratosphere is at the north end of the Strip.

Insider Secret - Because the Stratosphere is at the top of the Strip, you will save big on the price of a room. So to get around town easily, use your extra cash to rent a car or buy tickets on the monorail.

To date, it's the only casino on the Strip that is officially in Las Vegas. Casinos on the boulevard are actually in the township of 'Paradise.' It's an easy walk to the Sahara where you can catch the monorail which will take you all the way down to the MGM Hotel and Casino Las Vegas. FYI - If you think you're going to be making frequent trips to the Strip, here's a good tip - buy an unrestricted 24 hour pass. It's the same price as a two-ride ticket.

When you're staying at the Stratosphere Hotel Las Vegas, you may even want to rent a car. The parking garage is very convenient and costs nothing, like all casino parking garages on the Strip. You know what I mean if you come from San Francisco or Chicago where parking is at a premium and expensive.

Because of its location, the Stratosphere offers big savings on room rates. I recommend staying here if you are looking for an affordable hotel, spacious pool area, views of the mountains or the Strip, you are on a budget and you don't mind being on the north end of the Strip. If you're looking for similar savings in the heart of the Strip, then I would suggest the "Imperial Palace" or the Flamingo.

Ask for a room in the Premier Tower at the Stratosphere. It has a view of the mountains, it's clean and beds are comfortable, but nothing like the beds at the Hilton Hotel Las Vegas. Bathrooms are spacious with a good sized soaking tub. Don't expect marble floors and countertops like at the Bellagio. Maid service is excellent and linens are changed every day. Room service is prompt.

If you have an extended stay in Vegas and you don't want to break the bank, then the Stratosphere Hotel Las Vegas is a good choice. Like so many hotels in Vegas, clerks at the check-in desk are trained to offer upgrades for additional costs. Don't fall for the aggressive sales tactics. If you don't like your room, they will often upgrade you at no cost. Be aware that at the Stratosphere, there is a small, daily resort fee for using the pool and access to the tower whether you use them or not.
