Las Vegas Electronics Show

Las Vegas Electronics Show is one of the largest "Las Vegas trade show's" that attracts 145,000 people from around the world every January. Also known as CES, or the Consumer Electronics Show, it is the world's largest technology trade show with over 2,700 companies represented. For the last 41 years, just about every major technological consumer electronics advance has been launched at CES.

The Las Vegas Electronics Show is held for 4 days in 1.8 million square feet of the Las Vegas Convention Center near the Hilton and the Sands Convention Center at the Venetian. Over 20,000 products are featured in 30 different categories, including audio, gaming, home theater, video, digital imaging, and high performance audio and home theater, in-vehicle technology, emerging technology, home networking and wireless categories.

The show attracts top leaders, CEOs and speakers from around the world. Bill Gates from Microsoft, Brian Roberts, chairman and CEO of Comcast Corp., Kevin Martin, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, have been keynote speakers at the trade show. Celebrities like Yoko Ono, actors Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner and David Ortiz from the world champion Boston Red Sox have made appearances at specific booths.

Besides the exhibits at the trade show, super sessions for International issues are also scheduled, awards are given and world class keynote speakers are part of the action at CES. This Las Vegas Electronics Show also hosts the Emmy Awards for Technology and Engineering. Two areas are given awards, namely Science & Technology for Television - satellite, cable and broadcast distribution and Advanced Media Technology - gaming technology, interactive television, and the Internet, personal media players, private networks and cell phones.

Panels with top industry leaders like Phil Schoonover, President and CEO of Circuit City Stores, Bradbury Anderson, Vice Chairman and CEO of Best Buy and Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) discuss the hottest selling technologies and their impact on the holiday season. A reception is usually held the second night of the show for attendees to network with their peers. You will find some of the best food and Las Vegas catering at this type of event.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) also sponsors and manages the International CES trade show. This association promotes the growth of the $148 billion U.S. consumer electronics industry. Companies who join CEA benefit from market research, legislative advocacy, education, technical training, promotion of the industry and strategic relationships.
